Dickey Betts, late of the Allman Brothers Band, was our headliner. I stayed over the night before the tournament, since it was an all day event and was fortunate enough to have the room next to Betts.
He did practice until early in the morning and when I walked out at 5am, his room service discards contained two empty bottles of Jack Daniels and the remnants of a steak.
Here are the best of the Dickey Betts shots from that day. Everything here was shot on film.

Here is one from August 9, 2001, with Michael McDonald. The next post will be a nice southern rock treat for you.
Here are a few more from the Q104.3 Celebrity Golf Tournament, featuring the late Jay Thomas and the late Robert Loggia

On August 9, 2001 the Q104.3 staff gathered at a golf club in Western New Jersey (no, not that one) and held a charity celebrity golf tournament. Over the next few posts, I'll group the stars that were there. This installment features members of the television series "The Sopranos."
We start with a shot of Joe Pantoliano, taken right after I told him he was my favorite character in Eddie & The Cruisers. "Oh, you're the one kid that saw that movie."
I told him my mother had made her own bumpersticker on our '78 Volaire that said, "Eddie Lives."
"Well, that explains it... but thanks for saying that, it was a fun project. Not everyone pulls that deep from my career."

This was a podcast and may be again. Now it's where the hosts go to opine.
