If I get hit by the bus tomorrow, I want it noted that, "he never photographed the Grateful Dead with a good camera, but he did a shot of CSN that Graham Nash really liked."

Years after these shots were taken, from the photo pit at the PNC Bank Arts Center, I was able to interview Graham Nash and I have him a copy of the lead photo in this post.  He studied it for a long time and asked if he could keep it as a reminder when things between the old friends is, "not as happy."

I don't know for how long he kept it, or if he remembers the interview, but I will always keep those days close to my heart.

Blues Traveler crammed themselves into the Q104.3 Studios in late July of 2001 to play and be interviewed.

I'd followed this Jersey band since they started playing local shows when I was in High School, so to be in the same room with them was a real treat.

In sign of the times and how we didn't mind when certain artists did certain things, John Popper smoked in the studio, when he wasn't singing.  After the interview, I asked John to sign my own pack of Parliaments.  He also gave me and signed one of the harmonicas he'd played that day.

Master comedian, seer of truth and 15 years later, author Greg Proops came by the Bob Buchman morning show to plug his gig at Caroline's on Broadway.

I was a big fan of Greg's from his days on the UK and US versions of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"  He'd also had a few lines in Episode I of Star Wars and I asked him what it was like to be part if the Star Wars Cannon.  He said, "Oh sweet Jesus, you're one of those people, right? I bet you can recite all the lines from the movie."

"Just yours and I knew you were doing a combo of all your favorite baseball announcers."

"Touche, kid. Tou-fuckin'-che"

I stopped talking after that.

Oh, one should notice that he is not wearing a tie or jacket to the interview.  It was July for bloody sake!

There are a few times you remember and treasure.  One is when you photograph a Beatle (coming soon) and when you meet and photograph a Monkee.  This is one of those times.

Later in the day, after Mickey Dolenz visited the Q104.3 morning show, Mickey Dolenz came by to talk with Ken Dashow.  It was not long after this session, that he started talks with our competition to do a very brief stint hosting the morning show on CBS-FM.

At this meeting, Dolenz was a true gentlemen and was kind enough to sign my copy of Pieces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd.
